The Wagarville Barn

The Place to Make Memories

Our Story

The Wagarville Barn is conveniently located outside of Gladwin on a 80-year-old Dairy Farm. The farm has been owned by the Edick family since 1943. The farmstead is relatively complete with the outbuildings that fulfilled the needs of a diversified farm of an earlier period. Our core mission for the farm is to maintain the rural heritage of Wagarville. The farmed fields and magnificent sunsets naturally bring you a great experience on your special day. This location provides the picture-perfect setting for the barn wedding you have always dreamed about. With multiple options, we are sure to be able to provide the location and the day that will create memories you will cherish for a lifetime.

Since 1949

The property where The Wagarville Barn is located was established in 1943 when Victor and his beautiful bride, Vivian (Wagar) Edick moved to the farm. The couple raised their family and resided on the farm until 2012.
The ground level of the barn was built in 1949, and the top followed in 1950 with a good ole’ fashion barn raising. The barn was primarily used for dairy cattle, which was the family’s main source of income. The unique trusses found within the barn were hand made by Victor Edick and his father, Henry Edick.

Est. 2017

The barn sat empty for many years until Tami Lake, the granddaughter of the late Victor and Vivian Edick , and her husband Todd Lake purchased the property in 2017. In 2018 Todd and Tami started the clean-up process on the barn. After many requests from family and friends wanting to use the barn for events, Todd and Tami made the necessary renovations, and The Wagarville Barn was reborn.
Once the renovations started, Todd and Tami developed their vision for the barn.
It was soon apparent that the barn was to become more than a place to store hay and straw and house dairy cows. And so their vision became that the barn would now be a place of joyful gatherings. That vision is to provide a beautiful barn wedding overlooking farmed fields and picture-perfect sunsets to create memories you will cherish for a lifetime.
